The Portuguese superstar will be paid to join the gladiator style competition to prove that he is the number one player.

He also the latest football star to sign up for A:3K Football, a £10million test of skill at the 02 Arena on July 17.

Less than a week after the World Cup Final, Ronaldo will battle it out with Steven Gerrard, Didier Drogba, Cesc Fabregas and David Villa in a series of challenges. They include A:3K Attack which sees the players locked in a perspex cage with six goals and two balls, trying to score as many times as possible.
David Beckham’s former right-hand man, Terry Byrne, has helped organise the event and persuade the world’s leading lights to compete.

He said: “We can officially confirm that Cristiano Ronaldo will be a competitor in this year’s A:3K event.
“We have already confirmed that Drogba, Fabregas, Gerrard and Villa will also be competing on that one night at the O2.
“One more football superstar will complete the line-up – we expect to be able to confirm that name this week.”
