Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo is no doubt two of the best players in the world. But who’s the best in your opinion?
hmmmmmmm I think they are both good its hard to choose but we should look at both Real Madrid side without Ron and Barca side without Leo and they both won the Ballon Deor and the FIFA best players. But I gotta go for Chris cause iam a madridita
Hehehe… Lionel Messi is an awesome dribbler.. But I’ve got to say that Cristiano Ronaldo is a better player in my opinion because he’s got a stronger mentality and because he is excellent everywhere: free-kicks, headers, open play, dribbling, etc,…
For me, Cristiano Ronaldo is the best player in the world and he has contributed in changing the game of football. E.G:
Everyone makes back heel passes this days.. Remember how the English Premier League was amazed when Cristiano Ronaldo frequently did that since 2006. Now it’s become common but Ronaldo will always remain the master of back heels, tricks, and flicks for me.
Well, go, go Ronaldo!!!!
haha… I think Lionel Messi is superb, very impressive. I think he can still do better to be even greater, but at the moment, he’s soo good. Awesome! Don’t let me talk about Ronaldo , I’m kinda a Barca fan
This is super easy: Cristiano Ronaldo all the way! LOL, sorry Isaac, I know how much you loveeee Cris (sarcasm) – but Cris is just the total package. Like Angela said, his got a super awesome mentality, amazing playing skills, good at public relations – his just overall as a football icon, perfect. But I’ll give credit were credit is due – Lionel is good too…I guess….but Cris just way over shines the kid.
Cris <3333 xD
Wow girls… I’ve got the feeling I’m getting teased here, hun? Anyway, it’s nice to have you here Dia… but it would be better to have you here without your immature baby Ronaldo..
Hehehe, Ike.. you have no idea of who your Messi is! Great dribbler, yes. Great mentality.. seems like he fears nothing and is hard to distract..
But hey, Cristiano Ronaldo is a guy that people love to hate. He’s been receiving more criticism than praises on the field of play and in stadiums, I mean.. Even death threats..
But then with all, Cristiano Ronaldo has always succeeded in coming back stronger.. since his young age. He is AMaaaaaZing!!
And his free-kicks… I mean, he’s the man. Dia, applauds to you for your comment! And nice to have you hear too.
Isaac be ware ur surrounded by ronaldo lovers! But if Messi wana prove that he is better than Chris he should pove it in The World Cup cause he really sucked when he played with the national team in the world cup qualifications :s So as a conclusion Messi makes no change in Barca but Guardiolla does which means that Ron is better with Real if we look at the number of goals scored in how many matches played
Girls, just eat me up if you want!!
Yes, we will EAT you ISAAC!!!! Poor baby! Ghiwa is sooooo right! Guardiola changed Barca, not Messi despite all his extra-terrestrial dribbling skills.
Look at Barca’s 4-1 defeat against Real Madrid in 2007 or 2008 I think.. Messi was nowhere to be found on the pitch.. Ok, it’s true that players can have bad days, but you should look at the way Messi is so much assisted by his teammates before he delivers.
Unlike Ronaldo who can carry part of a team on his shoulders through individual effort, Messi really needs the assistance of midfielders before he influences a score line.
Also, I hope you girls understand the whole issue clearly over Lionel Messi’s strange failure to impress in Argentina’s Albicelestes… come on, don’t just throw all the blame on Messi just because he has fine legs… Ronaldo too had some problems in Portugal’s qualification for the 2010 World Cup, but Ronaldo wasn’t to hold ALL the blame. Football is not a 1 vs 11 game. It’s a unity game, and that’s exactly what Ronaldo and Messi miss in their respective national football teams. In fact, Ghiwa, you can’t really say that Messi was awful during the World Cup qualifiers… he did miss on 2-3 occasions to convert golden and vital chances for Argentina, but apart from that, he was very good, and because his country mates were so lazy, he had to play the role of a winger and a midfielder at the same time, which isn’t fair. It’s then not so surprising that the player’s moral will go down. The fact is that Argentina fans need to grow up and be more realistic, and in the same way, general football fans need to make the difference between Lionel Messi’s strong impact in Barcelona, and Pep Guardiola’s great leadership in the club.
Angela, which match do you watch actually?? Concerning Barca’s 4-1 defeat to Real in 2008, Messi didn’t play in his position at all, as Coach Frank Rikjaard gave his place to dos Santos (I don’t know why…), and moreover, Messi had sooo much injuries in that game (‘cos Real played like killers). By the way, what do you mean when you say Messi needs so much assistance and Ronaldo is an all-by-hiself player? I didn’t know that anyway. Like any other player, Ronaldo needs assistance, before he exploses like a bomb. If you look back in 2006-2007-2008, Ronnie played in Manchester United as a player in a happy and great club, unlike Messi who was enslaved by wrong officiatings, serious operations, and seperated team mates, etc… Well, well, well, despite this fact, Messi was still firm enough to push Barca to the semifinals of the Champions League in 2008, then to the final of the Copa del Rey in 2009, as well as to league glory that same year. So speaking of autonomy between the two players, no one is better… They’re both okay in that field.
Isaac, thanks for writing us a book of Lionel Messi.. What a masterpiece .. Naah, just kidding..
To be fair, I think that both players are great but I’ll pick Ronaldo over Messi because I share Marca’s opinion. Ronaldo is more complete than Lionel Messi.
And as long as I think that Barcelona vs Chelsea was completely a cheated match, then I think that Messi shouldn’t have won the UEFA Champions League, the FIFA World Club Cup, and the European Super Cup.
On the contrary, Cristiano Ronaldo won the FIFA World Club Cup and the UEFA Champions League with Manchester United without controversy..
For what concerns the European Super Cup, I won’t count it as a loss cuz Ronaldo didn’t play at all for Man United against Zenith St Pittesburg in Monaco.. he was injured and in the stands.
So, let’s take it that way.. If I was a king, I’ll rather have a warrior like Cristiano Ronaldo who brings me genuine trophies than Lionel Messi who is physically awesome but then can only bring me domestic trophies. If you are fair, you will realize that Messi only won the Copa del Rey and La Liga last season..
All the rest was in fact powered by bias referee Thomas Ovrebo against Chelsea as Stamford Bridge. Clap for me!
Sorry, “At Stamford Bridge”, not “as Stamford Bridge” Hehehe
yeah, Angela, nice thought, but then… if the Ovrebo thing was so unforgettable to you (and to me too), then consider all the referees. You’ll realize that Barcelona and their Lionel Messi should have won much more trophies after the 2006 World Cup, (perhaps domestic and international). In fact, Barca were in perfect shape, but then, referees and violent defenders started to do their best to bring them down, both mentally, as well as physically; and if you can remember, Barca should have crossed the last 16 of the Champions League in 2007. Also, despite all the bad intentions from the world against Barca, the Catalans were still able to reach the semifinal of the Champions League in 2008. Who knows what would have happened then, if the Years of Barcelona had never stopped? Lionel Messi himself would have been as confident as Ronaldo in Manchester United, and Eto’o too, along with Puyol, Milito etc… Undeniably, Barcelona were cheated too much in the past, so if now, they’re catching back what they lost controversially, then I think the MAJORITY of the public should remain silent. Truthfully, Messi is a cup grabber, but then, THEY didn’t let him be what he had to be. The referees started it, now Ovrebo should correct it… but in the end, the whole thing looks ugly to me, unfortunately…
